What is home staging?
Home Staging (also called real estate staging, house staging and real estate styling), is the art of decorating a house to sell quickly and for top dollar.
During a consultation, a ReStyle Home stylist will come in to the property and make recommendations on improvements in order to maximize the homes' appeal to the target market. Each property will be different and require different things. Recommendations typically include:
editing and de-personalization of excess clutter, accessories and/or furniture
rearranging furniture within or between rooms
creating focal points of selling points within the home (i.e. styling a mantle to draw attention to a fireplace)
removing some furniture to off-site storage
rearranging art and accessories
styling book shelves, fireplace mantels and display cabinets
painting, cleaning and repair suggestions
other cosmetic changes that are relatively inexpensive but yield significant results
For other projects, the home stager may furnish the entire home from top to bottom including bringing in furniture, accessories and art after having the home repainted, repairs done, lighting changed, etc. ReStyle home keeps our own in-house inventory to keep costs low for our clients while maintaining the highest possible standards.
Most projects lie somewhere between these two scenarios. It depends on the needs, timeframe and budget available.
A professional ReStyle Home stylist understands that all recommendations and changes are geared to improving the marketability of the property. Home staging should increase the selling price, and speed up the time to sell— because the home is decorated to appeal to the greatest number of buyers within the home’s target market.
